This 4-week course is ideal for anyone interested in learning more about scent detection. We’ll cover the basics of the sport and the exercises you can work on at home.

Dogs were made for sniffing and if you’ve got a dog who’s nose is always to the ground, this sport is for you.

Scent work boosts confidence, encourages teamwork, and provides a lot of mental exercise. Scent is ideal for reactive or fearful dogs, certain breeds and for those looking for something fun to do at home with their dog.

reactive dog class

I understand the struggles of life with a dog who’s big feelings mean big behaviours like barking, lunging, snarling and snapping. Reactivity brings out big feelings at the human at the end of the leash too. You’re not alone in your frustration, embarrassment, isolation and sometimes even being afraid of what might happen.

Whether it's other dogs, bikes, cars, wildlife, or people, this course is designed to provide you with the tools to understand, manage, and change your dog's big feelings and aggressive behaviour. Together, we will work on developing the skills and exercises that will empower you to become the compassionate and supportive leader your dog needs to feel better and behave better on walks.

Classes will be a maximum of 2-3 dogs and may not be suitable for severe cases.

How It Works

  • Open Enrolment: This class is open for enrolment, allowing you to choose the four nights that best fit your schedule from a wide range of booking options. For instance, our upcoming summer series is scheduled to run from June 1 through August 30. You'll be able to select the four dates that work for you, with the flexibility of rescheduling within 24 hours if needed.

  • Personalized Guidance: Upon registering, I will reach out to you to schedule a 30-minute call or video chat. During this session, we will determine if your dog would benefit from classes. (Severe aggression will require private training). We will go over what to expect from the classes, what to bring, and answer any questions you may have before the start of the program.

  • Initial Class Without Dogs: I highly encourage everyone to attend their first class without their dog. Introducing your dog to a new environment can be stressful, especially if they have strong reactions to new people and dogs. And if you’re like me, going to a new place for the first time is stressful enough!

  • Live Q&A Sessions: I will host a live Q&A session to discuss how training went for everyone. These sessions also present an opportunity for you to ask questions outside of regular class times.

  • Community Support: As an attendee, you will receive an invitation to join the Must Love Dogs Facebook community. Additionally, you will have 30 days of free membership to access our online resource library, which includes training videos, valuable information, and engaging games to aid in your dog's development (coming soon).
