Dine & Dash
Dine & Dash is a simple enrichment game that blends foraging, sprinting, and re-engagement into a clean, repeatable loop. It works as a quick energy outlet and a brain game—without turning into chaos.
This one shines as a warm-up, a mid-session reset, or a short standalone activity.
What You’ll Need
An open, quiet space
Small, tasty treats
Several bowls or small containers
How to Play It
Place several bowls or containers around the space.
Put a treat in one bowl while your dog is watching.
Release your dog to find and eat the treat.
As soon as they finish, toss a reset treat away from the bowls for them to chase.
While they’re moving away and not looking, place a treat in a different bowl.
Let them return and search again.
Repeat for short, snappy reps.
3 in 3 Breakdown
Skills
Builds re-engagement after movement
Encourages orienting back to the handler
Clean pattern completion builds follow-through, helping your dog finish one piece of the pattern and smoothly transition into the next.
Enrichment
Pattern learning (mental stimulation)
Your dog tracks the pattern, remembers what comes next, and stays engaged in the loop. It’s simple, but it still requires focus and thinking.
Working together (social enrichment)
This is true one-on-one time. You’re moving as a team, building cooperation and communication without it feeling like formal training.
Searching for food satisfies your dog’s natural instincts.
Movement
Body awareness & coordination
Stepping onto targets encourages thoughtful paw placement and better body awareness while in motion.
Cardio
Chasing the reset treats provides a little workout for your dog. For safety, play on non-slip flooring.
Smooth transitions
Moving forward, stopping, targeting, and continuing builds coordinated transitions instead of static repetition.
