Focus & Function: Real-Life Reactivity Training

This isn’t just another obedience class.
Focus & Function is a series of real-life training sessions built to help dogs and their people build skills where it actually matters—out in the world.

These small-group coaching sessions focus on practising reactivity skills in structured, real-world setups. Think engagement, movement, threshold work, and working around distractions in a way that actually makes sense for your dog.

Each week has a general focus, but sessions are flexible. You’ll get live coaching based on what your dog needs in the moment.

We keep things low-pressure and spaced out, with short rotations and real-time feedback throughout.

Who is this for?

These sessions are a good fit if you:

  • Have a reactive or sensitive dog and want to practise in a safe setup

  • Need structured exposure with space and clear pacing

  • Want support between private sessions

  • Are working on confidence, focus, and real-life leash skills

What is this NOT?

  • Not a free-for-all or play session

  • Not an off-leash group

  • Not a drop-in for dogs I haven’t worked with

Do I need to be a client first?

Yes. These sessions are for current clients or dogs I’ve previously worked with.

If we haven’t worked together yet, start with a Starter Session so I can assess your dog and set things up properly.

How are sessions structured?

  • Max 4-5 dogs per session

  • 60 minutes (includes setup + debrief)

  • Rotations with space between dogs

  • Real-time coaching throughout

Where are they held?

From Midland to Port Severn and everywhere in between. Locations vary week to week and are planned in advance.
You’ll receive the exact location and instructions when you book.

Inside the Session

After our meetups, I review video and break things down so you can see what was actually happening in the moment.

Not just the reactions. The build-up. The hesitation.

The “almost” moments that are easy to miss in real time.
